With our 14-week Research Paper Writing and Publishing Academy, we're transforming school students into world-class & intellectually curious researchers.
"Before joining Teen Theory’s Research Paper Writing Academy, I could not even think of authoring a research paper. Even though there are so many resources online, figuring out how to research properly, cite sources, and write in an academic style is confusing and overwhelming. Without mentorship, the final product would have been nowhere close to what it is today.
Teen Theory’s Research Mentor, Dr. Sugandh, made all the difference. She taught me simple, time-saving tricks like using citation management tools and helped me organize my research step-by-step. Discovering these tools and tricks myself would have probably taken years, but given her experience doing a PhD herself, she was able to teach me those in a couple of hours.
She patiently answered all my doubts (even the small, silly ones!) and gave honest, detailed feedback that truly helped me grow. With her guidance, I was able to frame a strong, meaningful problem statement and explore complex ideas like the political and historical sides of cars — a liberal arts angle I would have never thought of but which is so important for Ivy League admissions as a STEM applicant.
My writing has improved a lot, especially in summarizing key ideas and forming proper academic sentences, which I struggled with earlier. I also learned the importance of academic
integrity and how to avoid plagiarism, which I wasn’t aware of before. Thanks to Sugandh Ma'am’s clear, encouraging teaching style, I feel excited and confident about research now —
something that would have felt impossible if I had tried doing it alone."
Our Research Academy doesn't just help you write a paper – it transforms how you think. You'll work one-on-one with PhD-level mentors who'll guide you through creating original research that stands out in college applications and builds skills you'll use for life. Teen Theory's Research Academy is a 14-week-long, highly personalised and entirely virtual mentorship, designed to fit a student's schedule while providing world-class guidance and support. We've decoded the research publication process and created a step-by-step pathway that has helped hundreds of students achieve what seemed impossible: becoming published researchers while still in school.
"Teen Theory's research program has honestly been a game-changer for me! Before this, I knew almost nothing about marine technologies or artisanal fisheries in India, but now I'm actually writing my own paper on it – how cool is that?!
Dr. Sugandh is seriously the best mentor I could've asked for. What I really appreciate is how she adjusts everything based on what I need. Like when I'm super busy with school stuff and have limited time, she still manages to explain everything without making me feel rushed.
The biggest surprise? I actually ENJOY the research process now! I used to think research papers were boring, but Dr. Sugandh has shown me so many ways to make my writing interesting. I've learned to think about my readers and how to keep them engaged, which has completely changed my approach.
My vocabulary has improved tons, and I can actually tell my writing is getting better with each draft. What's really awesome is feeling like I'm in control of my research – it's MY project and I have real ownership over it.
Every session feels productive – we're always moving forward! I've tackled some seriously challenging tasks that I never thought I could handle before. Teen Theory has definitely raised my standards for what I can achieve.
I'd 100% recommend this program to anyone who wants to level up their academic skills while exploring something they're passionate about!"

Most students hit college unprepared for the analytical writing demanded in nearly every course. Suddenly, you're expected to produce multiple research papers weekly, navigate academic databases, synthesize competing ideas, and form original arguments – all skills rarely taught in high school.
This is why even brilliant students struggle with the transition to college. Their grades drop, confidence wavers, and many resort to AI writing tools instead of developing crucial thinking skills.
Our academy bridges this gap. As the University of Pennsylvania's Dean of Admissions notes, nearly one-third of their admitted students engaged in research during high school. At Princeton, it's even higher – 37.4% of incoming students conducted research before arriving on campus.

The study aims to understand the extent of environmental harm and the effects on fishing communities caused by overfishing, and provides solutions to challenges like unsustainable practices and marine poaching.
Most high school students have never encountered true academic writing. But when they hit college, they'll face a barrage of analytical essays and papers. We bridge this gap with our dedicated 1:1 academic writing coaching.
The academic writing component of our program is game-changing for students. We've seen even strong writers transform their work through our seven dedicated sessions with writing coaches who specialize in college-level instruction.
The skills transfer far beyond your research paper. Students tell us they immediately see improvements in their school essays, standardized test writing sections, and even their ability to craft compelling college application personal statements. Many alumni report that their first-year writing courses felt manageable rather than overwhelming because they'd already mastered the basics of scholarly communication.
Here is the list of skills taught:
Students author an original, full-length academic research paper through guided mentorship.
→ Research papers can be used for publication, submitted as a portfolio in college applications, get research internships with professors, and apply to competitive research-based summer programs and competitions like RSI, Intel ISEF, etc.
We support students in submitting their work to reputed journals, online research platforms, and college journals and newspapers.
→ Publication, while still in school, helps students establish credibility in the academic body, land future research internships under professors, and demonstrate initiative and credibility to colleges.
Students deliver a formal presentation of their research to an audience of mentors, peers, and parents and answer everyone’s questions about their research live. We subsequently recommend conferences, TEDx talks, and fairs where students can apply to present their work.
→ This helps students learn academic communication skills, confidence, and handle objections, essential for college interviews, debate competitions, future conference presentations, networking, and workplace conversations.
The research mentor provides a detailed, personalized recommendation letter based on their notes and observations of the student’s performance.
→ This letter of recommendation can be used for summer programs, college applications, and internship opportunities.
Teen Theory’s Ivy League college counselors help students design a plan to implement their research and bring tangible impact.
→ This implementation of their research can turn into a social venture or for-profit business that they start, all while in school!

The big day may have come and gone, but keep in touch as we’re always up to something new and exciting.
"Before joining Teen Theory, research papers were just intimidating documents I'd occasionally see in news articles. Now, I'm writing one myself! Dr. Sugandh's guidance has transformed how I approach learning. Her detailed presentations, coupled with specific, actionable tasks, keep me focused and on track through each stage of the research process.
What I value most is the intellectual growth. I've learned to critically evaluate ideas—knowing when to accept them and when to reject them based on evidence. The program taught me practical skills like proper citation methods and how to effectively use Google Scholar, but more importantly, it's helped me discover my academic writing voice. Previously, I only knew storytelling and narrative styles from school assignments; now I can communicate complex ideas with clarity and confidence.
The scientific thinking I've developed at Teen Theory extends far beyond this single paper. I'm diving deeper into topics I'm passionate about and can see a long-term vision for my research career. Dr. Sugandh's feedback is always constructive and specific, pushing me to refine my work without feeling overwhelmed.
Teen Theory hasn't just taught me how to write a research paper, it's taught me how to think like a researcher."
Our research mentor is trained to help you identify the best topic based on your goals. If you’re writing the research paper for your college applications to the US, the mentor helps you select a topic that connects your disparate interests to display your readiness for a liberal arts education in the US. A lot of research fails to get implemented after publishing the paper. Students put their heart and soul into 3 to 4 months of rigorous research that solves a niche problem, only to stop thinking about it as soon as they’re done. But we don’t believe that this fulfils their academic purpose. On-ground implementation and application of the research gives them the authority to actually use their research to bring a change in the world, while still in school! In fact, most startups and non-profits that are research-backed produce much stronger innovation than startups that aren’t based on novel research. Therefore, we offer a complimentary session to all our Academic Research Skill Development Academy Students with our Ivy League college counselors to design a plan to implement their research and bring a tangible impact.
Unlike other research programs that relay information through program managers, our students have access to the research and writing mentors 24 x 7 via text and email for any questions.
Our program is heavily focused on strengthening basics and building skills that help them add tangible value to the world.
